Social commitment is firmly anchored in the values of the GRIWA GROUP. We are passionately committed to social projects in Switzerland and abroad. In recent years, for example, we – GRIWA RENT, GRIWA ARCHITEKTUR and GRIWA TREUHAND – have made a generous donation to the Zentrum Mittengraben Interlaken, or ZEMI for short. We are grateful to be part of a community that works for the good of others and look forward to continuing to make a positive contribution in the future.
At the Zentrum Mittengraben, around 170 employees care for people with cognitive or other impairments. These people receive individual and professional support, living groups and jobs here. People with disabilities work in the workshop, where their special skills and interests are developed. The residential concept is designed to support impaired adults in their independence and self-determination. Eight residential groups provide an environment tailored to the needs of the residents.
The curative school for children with disabilities is part of ZEMI. The educational programme is designed to provide the best possible support for the disabled children. Emphasis is placed on developing the children’s individual strengths and personalities and on integrating them as much as possible into society.
Our contribution
Finally seeing the sea! Many of the ZEMI residents had never experienced this before. The budget was only enough for occasional trips in Switzerland, so many of the residents had never been able to breathe sea air. Thanks to our donation, this dream came true. We are happy and pleased that our contribution made it possible to create wonderful memories of holidays by the sea!
